BookingBug, the East London based booking, enquiry and appointment platform, has announced it is the first ever UK company to fully integrate iZettle’s API (Application Programming Interface) into a smartphone application.
From today thousands of BookingBug users – which include plumbers, beauticians, personal trainers and cleaners – can manage their appointments as well as take card payments via BookingBug’s iPhone application. iZettle’s payments feature will be available via BookingBug’s Android application in April 2013.
Glenn Shoosmith, founder and CEO of BookingBug comments: “Increasingly service businesses that are on the move are looking to manage their business end-to-end on their mobile device – and mobile payments is a critical part of that. Using iZettle’s API for this part of the process was a no brainer – they are leading the way in the European mobile payments market. Now, our users can enjoy a seamless end-to-end booking solution and provide a hassle free service to their customers.”
Stewart Roberts, Managing Director at iZettle UK, comments: “Teaming up with like-minded organisations that share our goal to empower small businesses and individual sellers makes perfect sense. SMEs are the lifeblood of our economy and we encourage any collaboration that helps them to thrive in this tough economic climate.” |
