ExCeL London will be hosting a record twenty technology focussed exhibitions in 2014. To further cement its position as the natural home of IT events the venue will also host a number of proprietary events for global technology brands.
Many of the exhibitions such as Bett, ICE Totally Gaming and Plasa London have relocated to ExCeL London for the first time this year and many more will be hosted at the venue for the first time in 2014 including: UBM's Internet World, The Big Data Show and London Technology Week.
Jeremy Rees, Executive Director, ExCeL London said “I am delighted that ExCeL London is now recognised as one of Europe’s leading venues for technology events. The team here along with London & Partners and the Mayors Office have helped organisers relocate their events to grow, expand and deliver fresh content for their industries”.
Rees continued “London’s IT sector is the largest in Europe with 22,000 businesses based here, including hundreds at the ever expanding Tech City. An increasing number of entrepreneurs are recognising London is the best place in Europe to start up due to our continued infrastructure investment and our educated workforce. Leading UK based exhibition organisers are starting to take advantage of London’s strength in this sector to launch and expand their technology events in the English Capital.”
ExCeL London has recently made significant investments in its IT infrastructure to enhance the venues technology provision; including this week’s announcement that the venue has expanded the free Wi-Fi offer to cover the whole venue.
