Favorit selects DediPower co-location data centre to deliver innovative web 2.0 blogging application globally
15 April 2008

DediPower, one of the UK's fastest growing managed hosting providers, today announced that its Thames Valley Hosting Centre has been selected by Favorit to provide co-location services within its data centre to host an innovative blogging aggregation platform.

With a global coverage in the blogoshere, Favorit required a data centre with solid network resilience and connectivity to house its critical IT infrastructure. Backed by Sun Microsystems, Favorit developed a web 2.0 application that aggregates blogs and centralises the commenting functionality, vastly simplifying the ability to view and comment, without having to access multiple sites. The blogopshere currently stands at more than 80 million blogs and deriving value from this wealth of information requires different ways of leveraging the community to produce new experiences for end users. For Favorit utilising a data centre leverages economies of scale and reduces the risk for their IT investment.

“In selecting a co-location data centre, I was ultimately looking for a company to protect my IT infrastructure, with a track record of remote hands service excellence. DediPower stood out amongst its competitors and their reputation in the market was critical, as a new company offering innovative technology we need to get off on the right foot,” said Nick Halstead, CEO, Favorit.
DediPower’s Co-location solutions offer customers piece of mind that their servers will be safe and accessible 24x7x365, all housed within a secure environment with fully managed air-conditioning, redundant power supplies and high speed connectivity.  Located on the outskirts of Reading, Berkshire, Thames Valley Hosting Centre is also ideal for companies who are designing disaster recovery requirements into their IT infrastructure.
“Favorit are at the forefront of technology, delivering an integrated blogging portal. At DediPower it is exciting to work and support companies like Favorit who are pushing the boundaries in how we communicate and operate via the internet. Managed Hosting companies are enablers and help underpin businesses in today’s eBusiness economies,” said Craig Martin, CEO, DediPower.
